Yeah, I pretty much sat around and did nothing for most of the time - I'd much rather be working. Then I finished one of my major projects in about 1.5 months, though I'm still working on a creating a primer for the estrogen receptor (the last four kind of failed).

Wow, so sciency! Sounds cool ^-^

Everyone tells me that second year commerce is murder, so I'm worried about my performance this year.
Also, I'm paranoid that someone would've robbed the house I rented during the past 3 weeks and I go back to find my desktop and TV missing and just about everything else defiled.

I wouldn't be too worried. Most of my friends in commerce said it was fine, I think Mac just goes too easy on first year students in commerce, but if you have the study skills/determination, I'm sure you'll do well.

Ehhh, so far I've only met 4 upper year commies who all said it's going to suck and I can say goodbye to my social life (not that I had much of one to begin with so, at least it wouldn't change things too much, though I'm making it a goal to get more involved this year )
Good to know I finally got a different opinion of 2nd year commerce though.

The only thing you have to worry about in Commerce II is that the classes move much faster than first year, and you end up having multiple exams + an assignment due on the same weekend.
I had a marketing midterm on Thursday at 7:00 P.M., then a Stats midterm on Friday at 9:00 A.M., and finally the marketing report was due on Monday at 12:00.
Suffice to say I didn't get much sleep during that period. In fact, I slept 1-2 hours (if that) in between the two midterms because I hadn't started studying for stats yet, and then passed out multiple times during the weekend while finishing the marketing report. Fun times with Commerce II! :p

Where's a "doesn't like this" button when I need one?

I'm worried about my mom. I'm a first year student starting in September and my dad has been working in Montreal from Mon-Fri for the past months. So basically, my mom, sister, and I have pretty much banded together and I'm worried that with me living on residence, she's going to have a hard time coping :/
I'm worried about not being involved at Mac. I'm not looking to kill myself with clubs and activities, but it would be nice to be involved in SOMETHING. But looking at my highschool years... I pretty much knew none of my classmates and they didn't know me, granted that could've been because of IB
I guess I have a fear that I'm not going to enjoy Life Sciences as much as I'm hoping I will. I love english and I pretty much chickened out of accepting offers to get into Humanities programs so I'm hoping I won't regret it.

You can always visit on the weekends and help around the house.
Clubfest is a great time during welcome week to see many of the clubs McMaster has to offer. There is something for everyone.
Did you take english as an elective? That would be a good idea to keep english in your studies.

I tried joining clubs last year.
I failed at being social.

If you find you don't like or find the Life Sciences program interesting, you could always switch to english or any other program.

I'm very antisocial myself but I'm trying to get involved...before school even starts lol. I've already got my nomination form to become a FLIRC (hope I can get people to sign it ><) and i'm a part of MacInsiders. If you put in enough effort and find something you like you can get involved.

Me too. There were NO clubs that appealed to me except for P.A.W.S, but I had classes during EVERY scheduled meeting for both 1st and 2nd semester. :S
