Apparently it really depends on the instructor. The material itself is straight forward, and there aren't many trick questions that could possibly be asked. My instructor is a professor emeritus (Dr. Ryan) and really presented the material well. However, I do like the theoretical side of math, and many of my classmates who don't aren't particularly enjoying the course...
Some professors present the material in the manner the textbook does - that makes the course VERY straightforward, but I find that the text isn't quite as in-sync with the big ideas behind the material as my professor's style of presentation...
On the other hand, 2nd semester (2009-2010 fall/winter) was apparently very differently presented, and lecture presentation was based more-or-less on the textbook. So basically, you could do the problems and 12 the course, while in the course I took it's a bit harder to do very well without actually understanding what you're doing.
