Action Required?
Hey, so im sure something like this has been asked many times already, but im going into first year kin, and im just checking my timetable now, and it says i have an "Action Required" with a sectioning conflict between a tutorial and a core (and this course is one which is not required, and is actually in the health sciences).

It is the physcobiology (HTH SCI 1G03)...

ACTION REQUIRED:
Crs Term D/E Comp Message Subject
HTH SCI 1G03 1D Sectioning conflict - Tutorial
HTH SCI 1G03 1D Sectioning conflict - Core

Sorry, but attaching my timetable as a file on here seems like a pain (damn file restrictions), but the above is pretty much what its saying. Am i screwed? What does this mean? And is there something I can do to get this course on my time table?

what is it conflicting with? if it conflicts with a mandatory kin course vs. psychobiology core then you're SOL and have to get another elective. but if its just a tutorial thats conflicting you can probably fix it tomorrow. btw... psychobiology is not exactly the best course (if i were you i wouldnt feel tooo too bad that i couldnt take it). good luck!

Thanks for the quick response! But how do I know what it is conflicting with? It doesn't say anything else except that small snippet I put in there :S... (and I heard it was pretty much a homeostasis course? is that true?)

If you look at your timetable, there is probably an orange block or two (as opposed to the green blocks everywhere else) that say CONFLICT...and then it will say what the courses are that are conflicting.

To attach your schedule, just take a screenshot/print screen.

Hmmmm....

None of the boxes are a different colour. Like im pretty computer literate, so if there was something obvious I dont think i would miss it... and ive tried that, its just once i make it an image file in Paint or whatever, the dimensions and KB size are too big

Would it be possible that the reason its showing up as a conflict, but not with any other course, be because that course is already full? I was the 11th person to complete SOLAR course registration though :(

If you got the course on SOLAR and confirmed and everything before leaving the webpage, there is a spot in that course for you. Take a print screen of your term 1 & 2 schedules and save it as a .jpg Go to a free file hosting website such as imageshack and post the URL here.

No. If it was full you wouldn't be able to add it on SOLAR.

Also, conflicts have always shown up as orange on the timetable. Either they changed it this year, or something is weird. Are you sure you're looking at the correct term?

OK, thats first term..

And thats second term... WTF...

like i said, maybe they gave the courses to the Health Science people who needed it as a mandatory course? Like they were given priority...?

Like I said..if you chose that course on SOLAR and submitted/saved everything before getting kicked out/leaving SOLAR then YOU are reserved a spot in it regardless.

If you live close by then by all means, walk right in to your academic advisor's office during their office hours obviously. Otherwise you could call them first and then go to the university if necessary.

I think she is the one you're looking to contact asap:

Good luck!

you have a conflict between KIN 1A03 and HTH SCI 1G03 Tuesday's at 13:30 when the two lectures would be taking place. pretty sure this means you cant take psychobiology since you're in kin.
