To ALL first years (students and course takers) in Humanities and Social Science
I am willing to assist you by bringing in my course work and books for the following courses:
Spanish
History 1A03
History 1BB3
Social Work 1A06
Political Science 1G06
Inquiry 1SS3 AND 1HU3
Labour Studies 1C03
Philosophy 1B03
CMST 1A03
and MOST 1st yr religion and sociology
My plan is to try and help the most people and provide you all with my experiences and knowledge so you can make your decisions prior to the re-opening of SOLAR and the start of classes.
If anyone is interested let me know here, perhaps the other upper year students would also be interested in doing this course fair/orientation thing also?

Online or meet somewhere?
Anyway...
Did you like Sociology 1A06? Who was your professor? How did she or he teach (lectures, overheads, powerpoint presentations, etc.)? Did the professor give you notes or did you have to take your own notes? How was the workload (hard, time consuming, etc.)? Do TAs mark all your papers, tests and exams? If not, how was the professor? Was the professor fair marker? Was the textbook useful for your class? Since this course is a 6 unit course, do you get tested on everything on the final exam? Lastly, I heard you use iclicker for this course and I'm wondering if you answer most questions wrong, what happens?
Sorry for bombarding you with a lot of questions, but I hope you can answer them! And I'm sure other students will benefit from it too.

I would be very careful about offering this stuff Goce. You're bordering very close, if not passing the McMaster rules on inappropriate collaboration.

Either or, but I was thinking in person. This way you can look through the notes and books yourselves. I don't mind the questions, since I was the exact same way and now have most of the answers.
Yes, Sociology 1a06 was taken by a close friend of mine. If you liked Grade 11/12 anthropology/sociology/psychology or the "family living course" (the same thing) than this is your cup of tea. His teacher was Catherine Swanson, she is a very kind lady, having met her myself, but she is also very dedicated to what she does. If you are taking Sociology as a bird course it wont likely work out how you thought. However, if you really enjoy the subject it will show in your grade and your experience.
Course breakdown:
2 M/C tests at 15% each
Research Final Paper 25%
Final Exam 30%
Class Participation via a "clicker" 7%
Tutorial Participationvia 8%
The tests are high school style in that they have m/c, t/f, s/a, essay. This is somewhat unique as most courses will either be m/c or s/a and essay.
I will forward the other q's to him and post them when he responds.
*Note: I have not taken Spanish or Sociology but between me and my friend's we have covered all of the humanities and social sciences. I will ask those people for their notes, books, advice upon request.

says thanks to Goce for this post.

If you don't mind Goce, could you also do Hispanic 1Z06 review if you or your friend took it?

hey there you took Labour studies right? Did you take both of them 1A03 and 1C03 if so what did you think of it? Was it is easy, how does the class work? I am thinking of taking both of the 2nd term. Also do you still have the textbooks and any other materials needed for the courses still?

So do you have the textbook for History 1BB3? If so, I'll buy it for a reasonable price! Also, how did you find the course? Easy or hard?
