Bassist Looking to Start a Band
I'm a bassist who's been playing for 5 years and needs to get his musical fix... I've played on stage a couple of times and really want to just get a band together to jam, write music, drink some brews and play a few shows.

Influences Include: Bootsy Collins, RHCP, Miles Davis, Hendrix, Rival Sons, Black Keys, Zeppelin, Herbbie Hancock, Charles Mingus, Marcus Miller, John Coltrane, Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Sex Pistols, Sly and the Family Stone, The Ramones.... the list goes on and on I don't like to listen to one particular genre...

Looking to form a fuzzy sounding funk band :/ mix of 70s funk basslines with fuzzy guitars (black keys, zeppelin, hendrix) with a singer while having some trippy ballads

or

a really mellow nu-jazz band (synth, drums, trumpet, sax, guitar, bass) with someone who has flow and can rap well

If anyone is interested in anything like this send me an email at [email protected] gmail.com or drop a line below

If you have a passion for music it would be awesome to just jam

Yeah i'm very serious. I was signed to a label awhile back and i've been busy doing all sorts of things.
Creating shows(created a B. Marley tribute act called Kaya) booked shows(brought Blues legend James Cotton to Hamilton Place a few years back) and doing all the networking stuff behind the scenes in the music biz.
A couple years back i put together a Funk cover band called Funkativity ,with horns(Sax and Trumpet) doing PFunk, James Brown,Hot Chocolate etc.. Played around Hamilton and Toronto just to get my singing chops back.
Now i want to do an original trip, Kinda Funk meets African drumming meets psychedelic Hendrix.
More importantly to jam and have fun.. we can maybe get some female back up singers also..
Let me get a funky drummer and keys, guitar and a space with a PA and lets see what happens.
Give me a holla at 289 389 5404

My influences are very similar to yours. I love miles, Coltrane,Herbie, Ed Bickert etc...I've been into jazz for a while. I don't think I have the experience to play in a band with someone like you but I'd love to jam sometime.I think that it'll be a good learning experience and if we can come up with some good material, we can start writing. Let me know if you're down for that. I play guitar btw
