BIO 2C03... review?
For anyone who has taken this course recently.... how is it?

Is it a pure memorization course?

Thanks

I didn't take it my friend did but I heared there is ALOT of calculations and understanding of what to do rather than just like other bio courses you can memorize and be fine

i wouldnt really say alot.. its jus expanding on high school/first year inheritance probabilities and patterns

but... the first term exam was pretty hard.. not because of calculations... but randomness

If Dr. Dej is teaching it TAKE IT !! she is the best prof ever, first term of genetics was horrible and full of randomness because Dr. Dej was a maternity leave and 2 random profs filled in.

Bio 2c03 is definitely not a memorization course... exactly the opposite. Of all the Bio courses I've taken it's probably the one that requires the most understanding as opposed to regurgitation. I took it with Dr Dej this past term; the concepts aren't too difficult to grasp but in order to answer most questions (quite a few of which are calculation-based) you have to ask yourself the underlying "why?" 's - so in that respect it's similar to orgo.

Bio 2C03 and 2B03 were both pretty easy.

Already mentioned but 2f03 was pretty easy, also 2d03. The plant bio exam was a pain in the ass but there were no midterms (just quizzes) and going to lecture was unnecessary, so it's one of those courses you can safely put on the backburner during the year and still get a good mark. Stay away from 2ee3 at all costs. I didn't find 2b03 very easy.

Bio 2C03 I thought was a pretty awesome course because you didn't have to memorize too much so you only needed a few hours to study for the midterms and like half a day or so to study for the exam.
