Just a heads up, all the Anthro courses are changing next year so there's not much point discussing individual courses but effective professors are always good to note.

Both first year multimedia courses. 1A03 is more like programming (WWW, HTML, CSS etc), which I really enjoyed. Ogborn for 1A03 is great. I found him really funny, but attendance is mandatory because we do small i-clicker quizzes at the beginning and end of each class (if you get the answer right or wrong doesn't matter, just as long as you attend). Media 1B03 is pretty much photoshop and web design. Hamilton for 1B03 is also great IMO. He shows a lot of entertaining videos in class : )

Might be hard to believe but MATLS 1M03 is an extremely easy elective open to everyone (required for engineers).

Take it, all of the quizzes ever generated are online / in the USB or CD package everyone gets (from redsuits or otherwise on DC++).

Oh and the intro STATS courses are jokes.

I like language courses...but if you dislike that sort of thing, you are apt to find yourself miserable.

What about Art History 1AA3? The review makes it seem like a bird course.

If you are interested in art, then go for it, but I know I would have an easier time in a difficult course such as Chem 1AA3 then something "bird" like this... Interest factor is very important, you may only need a slight interest in something to be able to do well, but if I took Art History I would honestly have a difficult time even listening (No offence to any Art History fans!)

HLTH AGE 1BB3 Aging and Society. There was a midterm, experimental/practical experience of your choice of 10 hours volunteering or seminars on campus with seniors, a reflective paper of that experience and an exam. I really enjoyed the course but not everyone does and Professor Joshi is a good prof and really nice overall.

The class average on the exam was 49% this past year so I dont know how much of a bird it is.

My friend took it and said it was easy, but that's because she was good at writing essays last minute and memorizing content. So if you can manage that, go ahead!

Look into PHYS 1L03. If you're good at math it shouldn't be a problem. Even more so if you took grade 11 or 12 physics in high school.

If you're already taking Econ 1BB3, Econ 1B03 is a piece of cake. A third of the course covers the same materials, and the concepts and way of thinking are fairly similar. Its easy to get a 12 without too much work in both classes

Enviro 1A03 was a super bird! With Bernier. He laid it all out for you, and walked you through every lab (which often ended early), and told you what was on the final. Didn't ever stress about this class.
Econ 1B and 1BB are good, I took them as evening courses and barely went, they were not hard when I took them.
Astron 1F is interesting and pretty easy if you've taken high school physics. But I didn't get as good of a grade as I wanted because of the project/paper.

Honestly tho, Math 1X and 1XX will be enough of a bird course, just take what ever you want
