Mattresses are not allowed. You can bring mattress pads, however.

Yeah, the only way you can bring your own mattress is if you get something like a doctor's statement that says you require a better one for back support or something like that. I know a few people who legitimately had that problem, since the supplied mattresses were too unsupportive for them to sleep comfortably. Barring medical problems, many people seem to get used to them pretty fast, though.

By the time I was about 3/4 through first semester last year, I was having the best sleeps of my life on my crappy residence bed. Unless you're super picky about where you sleep, you will most likely get used to your bed. But bring a good quality mattress pad.

Yup, the IKEA trip allows anyone to go, regardless of whether or not you bought the MacPass.

I thought the Ikea trip was on Friday between 2pm and 7pm...

They have buses running for a few hours, although I'm not sure how long exactly. I know it starts at 2pm.

You get on a school bus and go to IKEA. Meander around, buy something if you wish, get it back on the bus...That's basically it.
