To protect the laptop when carrying it around.

Basically if you don't have a laptop bag. I don't use a sleeve, I just use my laptop backpack. It's padded where the laptop goes ^-^

Or if you have a 17" two year old HP Entertainment notebook, like me, and there are literally no bags that fit the monster....

That reminds me; in the tech part we also got to use acetylene welding torches. I'm really surprised they trusted 13-14 year old kids with that kind of stuff...

In Manitoba, there's classes for Industrial Arts in grades 7 and 8, and it included sewing. Sewing isn't that hard, strange how many failed it miserably.

I think the people that fail miserably are the ones with low patience or ADD.

I think so too.
And also the people who manage to sew their sleeves to their machines.

Staples/Office Depot is having a sale on their laptop sleeves, really cool and stylish ones for like 17.49 or something.
