Casino War is definitely the game with the best odds. XD

Are you joking? I hope so.
From Wikipedia:
Casino war is a casino card game based on the children's game of War. The game is arguably one of the most easily understood casino card games, but it also has a relatively large house edge compared to other games.
Card games have at least 52 variables.... since craps is played with dice, the odds are much better.

Nope, I wasn't joking, since I only know two games: blackjack and casino war.
I lost 490 dollars playing blackjack, went to casino war because the dealer told me about it, started with 10 dollars, got back up to 300 dollars, went back to blackjack, and lost it all again. Actually, in retrospect, everyone at the table was making a profit. And I was at the table for a long time. xD But yeayea, odds are odds. Alls I know is that casino war worked for me, and I'm hoping it will again in the future.
I'm definitely playing casino war for the rest of my life.

I think that meeting people is a huge part of Welcome Week because I found that after a few weeks, there were already groups forming in class and it's kind of awkward to talk to a group of people (none of whom you know) who have already had plenty of time to get to know each other. This week is the time to get yourself out there!!!!!!!!!!

And my group of friends came as a result of getting involved in student politics.

Yeah, you make friends by joining clubs. These people will have the same interests as you.

Hahah yeah... that's the problem with discussion boards... threads can spawn discussion on a number of topics, but it's really annoying to start a new thread and try to transfer the conversation over... it ruins the flow of the conversation... we're supposed to try to keep it on-topic, but getting off-track occasionally does no harm and is unavoidable.

Well, I think it'll be easier when some of the IAs get to Senior level... not sure how long that is going to take though. But they'll have the ability to move posts over to new threads (I think).

My group of friends came from highschool + one of my friend's suite mates in Keyes. I talked to a few other people in class here and there, but not much besides that :p.
Maybe I'll make more this year, since hopefully the people in the specialization I'm going into will share the same interests as me (i.e. not only beer pong or finding the quickest way to get through university and into the working world... like every other engineer -.-).

lol there are a lot bigger problems with discussion boards, like trolling. But that's the joy of Internet Forums

I second this. Being SOCS(I live in Hamilton) I had my group of friends still living here, and as such I didn't really participate much in Welcome Week, which was a stupid thing to do. I'm slightly introverted, but those few people I met and I talked to, I made friends with, and one of them is a good friend now that I hang out with regularly. However, I didn't make many friends since I was lazy and didn't force myself to socialize enough, which I regret. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! GET OUT THERE AND DO THE EVENTS and MEET PEOPLE! You may not like all of them, but not meeting people won't help you find people you like to hang out with!

Sleep well. The reps will end up waking you up in the morning with loud horns and what not. It's easier to ignore it if you're in Bates/Keyes though :p
