Can someone help me calculate my cumulative average?

Here are my grades and the number of units for each class. I tried to do it myself but I get confused whether to add my failed courses and cancelled courses. I'm doing so bad this year....I have a lot of things going on that's stopping me from doing well. :( I have no idea how I'm going to show my parents my marks because I used to get really good grades.

I would love if someone could help me. I'm so scared I'm gunna get kicked out.
Thankkks! <3

Sem 1....
1. 3 unit course...mark: 5
2. 3 unit course...mark: 5
3. 3 unit course...mark: 0
4. 3 unit course...mark: 1
5. 6 unit course...mark: 6 (midterm mark)

sem 2
1. 3 unit course...mark: 4
2. 3 unit course...mark: 0
3. 3 unit course...mark: cancelled...
4. 3 unit course...mark: 1

If the course is cancelled, you don't include it into your overall average. Otherwise, just add up every mark and divide by the number of courses you have (9).

Don't worry too much, first year is a rough transition sometimes . I'm sure it'll get better next year.

Do you think based on my marks, I'll get an academic probation?

Your CA is 3.1, and if you have between 3.0-3.4 you are put on probation. Below a 3, and you get kicked out. So yes, you will be put on probation. There's no "do you think" about it. It either is or isn't.

Will they email me to say I'm on probation? I'm taking 2 summer courses, hopefully I'll get out of it...

It will say on your grade report once it is finalized at the end of May.

I calculated your CA as 3.1 - this is academic probation, which you can only be on once.

What program are you in/hoping to enter? First year can be a major transition, and it's totally understandable to have trouble (God knows I did) but the best thing you can do for yourself is figure out what happened and why, and how not to let it happen again.

All the best!!

Since they probably aren't the same courses, they won't replace the zeros.

Even if they were the same course, they won't replace the zeros.

Sadly no, your zeros won't ever go away (barring something like reinstatement, which I'm guessing you wouldn't want anyways).

As everyone said, first year can be rough (mine sure was too, along with a few other years -_-..).

I think being on probation isn't too bad considering your situation, you narrowly avoided being flat-out kicked out of university (I was in a similar boat). So pick yourself up, figure out what went wrong, correct every bit of it that you can, and move forward. Even though summer marks won't replace your zeros, that doesn't mean they can't help your overall GPA, so work your butt off. 1 bad year is relatively mendable, a slew of bad years and lack of self-corrections is another story.

If you are in engineering, a 4 is needed to stay in I believe, otherwise you are good. You will be put on probation, just take this as a lesson and move forward.
