choosing electives
i've already filled in my courses in SOLAR for first year in Life Sciences and my electives were health studies 1AA3 and english 1A03 but im thinking of changing them.
My current choices are english 1AA3, Anthropology 1Z03, and kinesiology 1Y03. can someone who may have took or knows anything about these courses please tell me some information about them like the class size, the average gpa that students end up with, and course load? thanks

I took Kin 1Y03. I absolutely loved it! It's really fascinating in terms of course material. The course load is pretty light--you have a 15min quiz each week, on the previous two lectures, and a prelab quiz before each lab (5 labs total, and about 20mins per quiz). The labs themselves are half lab, half tutorial, and all of your marks for the lab come from the prelab quiz + attendance, so it's pretty stress-free. Some of the labs are pretty cool, such as blood typing and hematocrit. The only real work from this course comes from the 60% final exam.

There's a lot of memorization in this course, but even for someone like me who fails at memorizing, it wasn't difficult to get a good mark. The course outline for it can be found here: http://www.macinsiders.com/showthread.php?t=2872 5

I can't remember the exact topics we covered in 1Y03 (it blends together with 1YY3 in my mind), but we definitely did embryology and the nervous system...the course outline should go through that in detail though.

For the other courses, check the reviews/course outlines to gain more information about the workload and what the course involves, to see if it interests you
