Coop Level II Science
Hey guys,

So I'm pretty sure I want to go into professional school after undergrad (not research), specifically Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy.

I think Honours Life Science is the program I want to choose, however, the fact it doesn't have coop is the only thing that is really bothering me.

But to be honest, I'm not sure if there are coop positions that would really be related to Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy, since the programs that offer coop are Molecular Bio, Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Chemical Biology, which all seem more like lab work and research type fo coop positions, which is not similar to my goals in the future.

In this case, is the lack of coop a big deal?

Is coop more valuable for people who plan on going into the lab and research fields than professional schools?

not necessarily. some coop positions are at hospitals, health canada, and pharmaceutical companies (biology and pharmacology program).

i would go talk to the science career and coop office in BSB to get more information. but if you want volunteer experience in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy with a credit, think about taking science 3EP3. you need to find your own placement for that though.

If your goal is professional school, maybe co-op isn't necessarily your top priority.
