Courses Already Full
I am a Social Science student and I picked my courses this morning, unfortunately two of the courses I wanted, Social Work and Communications were full. Is there any chance I will be able to get into these classes? Perhaps when the course selections reopens? Does any one know when that will be? Please Help!

yep, you can try again on july 11th! since you have the remainder of this week, i'd keep trying periodically in case someone makes changes.

if you don't get into them right away, put SOMETHING there so that you're at least fully registered.

if all else fails and it's a course you must have in order to get into your 2nd year major, you can always talk to an academic advisor. if you're not able to physically go in and talk to them, you can email them (see main social science webpage). it might take a couple of days for them to reply because it's so busy right now, but they do respond.

When solar opens on july 11th, does it close on the same day? or is it open for about a week?

the solar registration schedule says it closes aug 1st at 10:30 p.m. for sectioning (aka making up timetables)

Purple2309 says thanks to soltintal for this post.

Next year, it might be worth a try to log onto SOLAR right at midnight (although it will be rather difficult to get on). This is what many people do to try to ensure that their electives aren't full. That said, spots are continuously opening up through July & Aug, so keep trying!
