A few days ago I chose mac over U of T. Last night my friend tells me that there will be repercussions if I apply for U of T again cuz I declined their offer once. Is this true? Do they have some kind of blacklist?

umm why do u need to apply to u of t again ?

I'm assuming for grad/professional school?

But I seriously doubt they have a blacklist, that would make no sense

really doubt they will care... i really don't think that universities hold grudges

I had declined an offer from Western when i first applied and i declined again recently for a transfer into Ivey.

1. I got a really pretentious vibe from the students, its as if they were threatened by my presence or the fact that they didn't wan't to give me any sort of advantage
2. The connections I have made with the professors here at Mcmaster are irreplaceable

I'm 99% sure there is no blacklist, you hear of so many cases, especially for medicine, where people go to other universities, universities they very likely applied to as an undergrad all those years ago. Also, think about summer courses, so many Mac kids take summer courses at York or UofT or another institution that is closer to home, and they are very much accepted. Finally, med/grad/professional schools keep stressing on their website how which university you're from doesn't matter and everyone is treated equally and whatnot. So uhhh, don't worry. Last year I chose Mac over Uoft, Queens, Waterloo etc., I really doubt i'm now unable to go to Uoft Med or Queens Med lol

There are med schools though that prefer in-province applicants over out of province, however, this doesn't apply to schools in Ontario.

You should be fine. I have a friend who rejected mac twice and accepted their offer the third time.

I doubt UofT will hold it against you.
