Difference between customized and regular textbooks?
The required textbook for my BIO 1M03 class is the McMaster University customized "Biological Science" textbook.

My brother gave me the "Biological Science" textbook as mentioned in the course outline, except for it's the "regular" version (like the one you would see on Amazon).

These being said, what are the main differences between a regular and customized textbook? Will I be fine with my regular version? Because I would prefer to save $90 instead of spend it!

Thanks and any help is appreciated.

The custom version usually gives you only the chapters that the prof feels they will be covering. I remember this was the case for bio 1m03 where the book only contains part of the real book. You're fine with using the full version of the book. It was pretty BS tho for Chem 1A03 where they had a custom McMaster edition of Petrucci's General Chemistry 10th edition but the McMaster edition was exactly the same as the regular one which pissed me off because I bought it and now I can't resell it.

penandbrain says thanks to Imperious for this post.

Thanks so much! And I just unwrapped my General Chemistry (11th) textbook bundle before reading this...looks like we're in the same boat.
