All course selection is done online.

If you are attending an academic advising session you will be doing it in a lab at school.

Would it be possible for me to pick my courses earlier all by myself at home so that I can get the dates/profs that I want?

I am going to be in engineering and my academic advising session in July 2nd, and SOLAR opens on July 2nd as well.

EDIT: What you said is confusing because there were two academic advising sessions (June 25 & 27) before SOLAR opened for all engineering students.

Nope, because first year eng students can't log onto SOLAR before the 2nd they did a mock course selection, where they were given certain MACIDs that would function.

Yes, you can choose your courses before you come to the session. I reconmend you do that if at all possible *hint* Don't bother trying to get on at midnite. Wake up around 5AM and you'll get on right away.
