Drop a course
I want to drop orgo because it occupies so much of my time that I should be contributing to my other courses too. I feel like if I continue with it I'll end up doing so much worse in my other courses.

Is there any backlash for dropping a course or should I go ahead with it?

Check your third year and see which courses conflict with it. Orgo is a major course I presume for life sci so if anything drop an elective or something else. Double check with your third year courses

Backlash:

You will not have the prereq requirements for upper year courses, should orgo be required for them
You will lose a portion of the fees you paid
You may actually be assigned a 'drop' mark on your transcript
Depending on when you actually drop, you may be awarded a final grade in this course based on where you're at now (meaning you could essentially have a fail on your transcript)

Make sure 100% with a student advisor that dropping is what you should do at this point!
Friday, November 9 is the 'drop without fail' deadline.

Orgo isn't required for life sci.
Also, just because it doesn't conflict this year, that doesn't mean it won't conflict in the future.

Dropping at this point will result in "cancelled" on the transcript. It's not a fail until after Nov 9, as you pointed out.

In addition, you might not have the prereqs or the prerequisite knowledge for whatever you wish to do in the future.
