Dropping a High school course?
Hi everyone
So I was wondering if it's to late to drop a course and take a credit recovery class instead for my midterm mark. My school offers U/M level classes in credit recovery so it will still go towards my top 6 and realistically, if I put in effort, I could have way more than half of the class work done by midterm because its work at your own pase, and atm, i'm very motivated
Thankss!

dont ask us. ask someone at your high school like a counselor. and if youre motivated like you say you are then there is no need to drop anything.

I've never even heard of credit recovery courses but maybe it's just because my high school never had those. If what you're saying is right about them being U/M courses and doing it at your own pace, then it seems like it'd be okay as long as you finish before your school submits your grades to the universities you're applying to but you should take Silver's (mine too) advice and seek assistance from your high school's guidance counselor. Good luck!

Welcome to the MacInsiders community Amber, thanks for posting your question. I haven't heard of 'recovery' classes either, so I have no direct advice on the matter. But in situations like this, it's always best to go to the person that would have the most knowledge on the topic. And that would be, like the other members said, your guidance counselor. They will be able to see a much better 'high level picture' so-to-speak by looking at all your grades together, and how this specific class you're taking will affect everything whether you retake it or not.

In either case, it looks like you're quite dedicated to finding a solution and you'll persist and make it through. Good luck! And hope to see you at McMaster sometime in the future
