Ling 1A03 is pretty easy, As long as you keep up with the practice questions and go through the lectures every week. The TAs are super helpful and the classes are pretty laid back as well.

I recommend taking Anthro 1A03 evening class taught by Dr. Cummins. It's pretty easy-going.

linguistics by FAR.
I'm currently taking both.
I really don't like anthro so far..
but I find linguistics super fun.. I've gotten an A+ on the quiz so far and an A- on the midterm..
..for anthro, I handed in one assignment so far, and literally failed it.

Easy First-year Electives for 2013-14: Which do you recommend?
Here is the listing of Elective Courses for Level I students for 2013/14: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /calen...-14/pg103.html, however that list doesn't link all of the course codes up which is a pain in the butt. So go to last year's calendar and you can click to see the course descriptions easier: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /calen...-13/pg103.html
Keep in mind, don't take courses just because someone said they were easy, they could be easy for some and not for others. And only take courses you're truly interested in and will learn something from! If you take a course that you have no interest in, you won't be able to focus on the material, most likely won't remember items well for tests since you don't care about what you're learning, etc.
Electives I would recommend as fairly 'easy':
ENGLISH 1CS3
HUMAN 1HU3 (Inquiry) - only for Humanities students
MMEDIA 1A03/1B03 - If you're into computers, these are a lot of fun.

Easy electives for first year?
Hi!
I read a lot of reviews for "easy" courses/electives to take first years. Of course I do not mean to say that they don't require any efforts but a lot less effort than some of the other heavy loaded courses.
Some of which I read which were easy were:
Econ 1B03..
Enviro?
Anthro 1A03
Linguistics
I haven't really taken any accounting or business courses first year, and neither do I enjoy math so not sure of Econ would be a good course to boost my average. I prefer courses similar to english although I know taking English as an elective may be difficult. If anyone can please PLEASE recommend courses similar to English or Psychology... Or even World Religions (is that easy in university)? Please help me out here thanks

Some departments, like Linguistics and Religious Studies, put some of their most dynamic and capable profs into first year courses, possibly in an attempt to stir up interest in continuing in the field. Either of these, --or maybe some others?-- could be a good choice for an interesting and (mark-)rewarding elective. English has been considered a challenging course, with high expectations and a considerable workload, possibly a bigger step-up from high school than some other courses. But it all depends on your own skills and interests. Personally, I discovered that you really need a whole university education to be properly prepared to do well in first-year English.

Econ 1B03 is an easy course with Holmes. I didn't take any economics course in high school and managed a 12 in the course easily. Holmes gives out a lot of bonus marks.

I would not recommend world religions, I know it sounds interesting but I took it last year and HATED it. It really isn't a very challenging course but its really boring. I recommend anthro 1AA3, its the food sex death one, I thought it was really easy and pretty interesting. Another one that I recommend is Geog 1HA3. it's very common sense and really easy to pull a good mark, the only thing is that it involves a lot of work, it's very easy work but its relatively time consuming, also it's kinda boring. Psych 1X03, it's interesting and the work load isn't bad but it has long textbook readings and I don't think it's that easy to get a REALLY good mark in it. You can easily get a decent mark but its a lot of thinking that makes it hard to get a really good mark.
