What the eligible and ineligible thing means:

Do you notice how all four of your choices are listed, but you are only eligible for 1? The program you are eligible for was the one you got into. Because you are now in that program, you are ineligible for your other three alternatives. Depending on whether you got your first, second, or whatever choice, being ineligible doesn't necissarily mean you don't have the average for that program, it could mean that you got into another program higher on your list.

Afzal, Rstevenson all say thanks to KAB:) for this post.

KAB is correct. You are only eligible to enter into one stream. btw congrats to all first years! I know I was excited/relieved to find out the stream I got into.

That's really interesting. Different from the science department, but it makes a lot more sense if the students know exactly what stream they want and they don't change their mind from the time they applied.

What happens if you do change your mind though? Can you ask for a transfer? Just curious and perhaps some engineers are also wondering.

Ya you can appeal to change. Just need to go talk with one of the academic counsellors in the engineering office. It may be very difficult though say if a program you want to get into is capped at 60 people and its already full they may let you squeeze by but you have to go through alot of hoops I believe.

Last year I got accepted to Civil, but I decided I wanted Eng Phys instead, so I emailed Sally Williams and she was able to switch me. But the cutoff average for Eng Phys was likely a 4 and I'm not too sure if the program was full or not. I'm guessing it depends on a numerous number of things, but it wasn't that hard for me to switch.

I think that just means: you are registered in the one program. and you are not registered in the other types, meaning that you are "ineligible" to be in the.
Don't take any offense to the word: ineligible.

Once you're eligible for one, you're automatically inelegible for the others.
