Your electives aren't mandatory to get into 2nd year, so you'll be fine. However, failing a class affects your GPA which is used to determine what program you'll get into. Also, you'll need to complete that credit before you graduate since you need six units of first year electives to satisfy your degree requirements.

I'd suggest finding other students to work with and studying like crazy before the exam. If you can just pass the course you'll never have to worry about it again, especially if it's not in an area you're ever interested in pursuing.

Good luck!

It is. That translates to: Do your best. You still have plenty of time to do study and pass the exam and the course, since the exam is usually worth something like 40%. There's at least 10 days before the first day of exams. Use your time wisely and do everything possible to try and pass your elective.

And yes, that IS the greatest advice ever.

I think its a pretty good advice. Like what Dr. Stolle said to the 2P04 class after giving back a low-average test:

"Its not over till its over" *serious look and points*

Your cumulative average will go down and you will need to do another elective for the degree requirement. That's about it. Take an elective during summer and you're good.
