A First Look At Quarters Demolition
Quarters, as we know it, is closed... a sign on the door stating that renovations are under way and to look forward to the reopening in September. But what is really going on behind that locked door? The Board of Directors want to let you in on exactly that by launching a new
renovations update website where they will be posting photos and news about the renovations as they happen each week.
So far the MSU has approved the expenditure of $375,000 for the improvements and demolition is underway. "In order to complete this project on time for the upcoming academic year, Ira McDonald began demolition which included the dismantling of the main dividing wall and bars", says the Board, "It is pretty obvious from the pictures that the big red wall is gone and let me tell you all, the place is massive. In addition to the wall being gone, the main bar that was in the restaurant has vanished and so has half of the dance floor bar. Stay tuned because coming up we will post blueprints that show an island bar, a sweet lounge and other cool concepts".
The website also mentions the renovations including:
- Window booths and benches
- More places to sit and better lighting
- WiFi internet
- A bigger bar
- Coffee
- Power outlets for your laptops
