On the course timetable it says bio 1a03 is offered first term and second term. When I go on solar, they aren't there, just 2nd year+ courses. Can anyone explain this peculiar phenomena?

You're probably signing up for summer courses as the link for fall/winter will not be up until you can register for courses in June.

SOLAR for the Fall/Winter terms isn't even available yet. It'll become available when you sign up for courses on the specific date for your program/year (you can find it here.)
