French 1A06
It really depends on your previous level of french education because anyone with grade 12 french gets put in this class. So you have a mix of people with core french, french immersion and all french schools in one class, which makes it a little interesting.
I really liked the class...
all say thanks to laurastevens for this post.

I did two spoken presentations in this class. They weren't very long, about 5 min and you were mostly presenting a written assignment. It's not that intimidating, since there aren't many people in the class.

Well, I don't know why they didn't have oral presentations in your class. But I had one in each term last year, and I had Dr. Hanley. I also did presentations in French 1K06 with Dr. Banks.

I quickly looked through it and from what I can see it seems like a good site for preparation.
But realize, for French 1A06, you will be reading 2 books throughout the year plus there's vocab being learned in your tutorial.
So just knowing the verb tenses, nouns, prepositions.. etc. isn't quite enough.. you'll need to be able to express yourself not just in writing but also orally.
Good luck!

I had her for French 2BB3. She wasn't my favourite; I found that a lot of the course was self-taught. She would give us the pages to read, the exercises to do, and then take the exercises up (which half the class hadn't understood) without going over why they were that way. I don't know what she's like for this course though.

She wasn't my favourite for first year french. As said above, the course is self taught (given pages to read and exercises to do, and then they are taken up the next day.) Good news though, if it's the same as last year, you will get another prof for your second term. And I hope you get Ivan Chow. He is an awesome prof!
Good Luck!
