I think the best way is to answer your question is to go to "Compass" at the student centre.

You'll be able to get a definite answer without confusion :-)

Hey I commute as well, in fact the whole of last year

all u need to do is: go to square one. Ask for a monthly student pass from Mississauga to McMaster. You need to show them ur Student card. (Or just wear a McMaster hoody )

And thts it Have fun commuting to Mac for 20 - 30 mins

Don't forget to always carry your student card when you are travelling on the GO. The bus drivers may ask to see it.

I've actually never been asked to show my student card when buying tickets.

You don't need the GO student ID. You can just show your Mac student card instead!

Yes, but McMaster students don't need to get one. Our student cards are accepted.

Apparently, they're switching to Presto soon enough. My bus driver yesterday informed all the passengers about it. So...yeah, go to Compass.

I've never even been for my student I.D. at Square One! If you're not a mature student who is obviously older, they just figure you're being honest and sell you the pass without questions.

I had coop in Toronto over the summer and it's a different story at Union, they will not sell you the student pass without GO student ID, even your Mac student card won't suffice. I was too lazy to get a GO student ID made so I solved the problem by buying my passes from Square One instead

They have to sell you the passes with the McMaster student card. It's on their website. Just ask to talk to their supervisor or something.

GO Transit accepts photo identification cards that are issued by McMaster University to its full time graduate and undergraduate students.
Edit: Also http://www.mcmaster.ca/sustainabilit...#gotra nsitid For directions if you are a full-time student but don't have the HSR sticker for whatever reason.
