Hamilton is so sketchy!!
I was literally threatened by a knife at a bus stop in downtown today.
sucks. I'd never have dreamed of that happening. I hate this city.  |

I have lived in Hamilton most of my life, and I agree with you. I try to stay away from the downtown core unless I really need to go down there.
I just moved from the downtown core to dundas because I could not stand living down there.
They are trying to clean up the downtown core, and make it safer by adding more police officers to patrol it, I find it is improving some.

I hope you're okay!! Hamilton is pretty sketchy in general. I actually prefer downtown to central Hamilton though. Downtown has police patrol and lots of pedestrians. Central Hamilton (or at least where I live) is like a ghost town. I hate waiting for the bus in the morning, I'm scared I'm going to get attacked.

ok fine. 3 guys pointing a knife at me for money and my phone.
I successfully ran away, but suffered a punch in the face.
I was holding a lot of stuff too, so couldnt defend/attack, just ran away.

thats actually pretty scary
being the moron I am I probably would have tried to fight them with the switchblade I carry whenever I go downtown
would have backfired tremendously
