Honors psych/neuro/behavior as a university transfer student?
Hey everyone! I just applied for honors psych as a transfer student and I'm wondering what my chances are of getting in...
I'm a 2nd year university student at an out of province school, and my gpa is between a B- and a B. I have all of the required courses for honors psych, HOWEVER the marks for these required courses range from C- to A. In the admissions page for honors psych it only shows a required B- for the first intro psych course, which is exactly the mark I got. My calculus mark was a C- though, and my chemistry mark was a C+. My question is, will that stop me from getting in even though I have all those required credits?
Just as an aside, they asked me for my high school transcript too, and all my grades there are A-ok I think!
I'd apply simply for a BSc psych degree, but since I've completed 2 years of university already (the school I'm at requires 4 years to graduate with a BSc in psych), I'm not eligible to apply for the "regular" 3 year psych major that McMaster offers. I have my heart set on this school so I'd just like to know what y'all think my chances are of being accepted! Thanks a ton. Thanks for your help everyone, sorry if this was super confusing!!

It's limited enrollment so you need more than just the minimum grades, but it depends on the competition. Not sure how exactly transfer students get placed - that would be a question for the registrar or the PNB department.

I appreciate your response. As per your advice, I did call both the PNB department and the registrar's office and they were disappointingly vague. While reassuring me that I have all of the required courses and minimum marks, the best hint they could give me was that since my major GPAs (which, at my current school are psychology/neuroscience and biology) are very good, I may or may not have a chance of being considered above other applicants. Major GPAs at my current school are calculated separately from overall GPA, so while some of my first year courses were rocky, the psych, neuro, and biology aspects of my marks were satisfactory. But, then they said they had no way of telling me whether I'd be considered. I contacted the admissions officer who was to look at my file and make my admission decision, and she told me the very same thing.
I was just hoping I may be able to find someone whom had been in a similar situation, and to see what kind of grades they had at the time of acceptance. Thanks again for your reply!
