Internet provider?
Does anyone have any suggestion for internet providers for a house of 6 people? The ones i know are teksavvy, bell, cogeco & rogers. Just want to know what other students around campus are using.
Thanks

Do you know the people living in your house? I.e. would they be heavy downloaders or gamers?

Teksavvy gives you a huge bandwidth cap of 300gb (basically unlimited) for a similar price as cogeco or bell's 60gb plan. With 6 people downloading shows you're almost guaranteed to go over the 60gb limit, and overage charges can get really expensive. The connection is apparently slower, but not noticeably, and the huge cap more than makes up for that. That's my two cents.

I got myself Cogeco. If you play online games and download movies/TV shows, it's better you save yourself the headache and just get your own internet service.

Teksavvy offers packages that doesn't have a bandwidth limit. But if you don't think you'd collectively download 100+ GB of stuff a month then you could probably stick with any of the others (I'm not sure what they charge for going over the listed cap though).

Although in second year we were complaining that we had much slower speeds than offered and we were still being charged for it (and I don't remember why or what happened after but in third year we didn't stick with teksavvy)

I remember in third year there was something physically wrong with the phone lines itself and we had an issue with our Cogeco line randomly disconnecting. But chalk it up to the area being full of old houses.

In my current house we're using Bell... I... don't remember why we're not using Cogeco again. I'll get back to you on that.

You need dry-loop, they charge a band rate on top of the normal monthly charges.

My housemates and I are also trying to find an internet provider but are having difficulties finding one that services our area. We finally found one called Youmano, but we haven't heard of it before. Does anyone know if it is any good?

Make your own thread instead of gravedigging >_> By doing a quick Google search I have found positive and negative reviews which one should expect on any company really.
