 | I have a FiiO E10 right now, and so far it seems to be enough to tide me over. However, in some songs you can clearly tell the HD600's struggle (not enough power)

I'm probably going to end up saving for an E12 (22V output) or a used Pan AM.

What kind of amp are you thinking about making?

 | Really? I'm suprised, I thought the E10 would be good enough to power the 600s. Have you tried turning up the gain? What are you using for a DAC? Interested in buying an E17? haha |

 | Sennheiser HD 280 pros.
Best cans I've ever owned. Bought them 5 years ago and they still hold up.

Edit: Also, "earphones" don't count as real headphones.

 | Sennheiser HD 449 with a Fiio E10 amp. In a few years I'll look for something a little higher end. Really like these though. |
