Is it ok if I buy the macpass on move-in day, which will be Sept. 5 for me? I know that it's possible since the last day to purchase one is Sept. 6, but would it be better to just buy it earlier online? (I know all about the extra $10 after August 15th)

that's totally ok! but I would strongly suggest buying one ASAP, that way you're guaranteed to get all the awesome swag.
in my first year, there were so many people buying the mac passes after move in that some girls were stuck with GIANT shirts, and some people didn't get res / faculty shirts because they were all sold out. (personally, I think the shirts are the best part)

If you buy earlier they have to money to spend so they can buy better/cooler swag.
But if you can't purchase earlier because you don't have a credit card, then there is no problem buying the macpass when you move in.
I'm certain you can buy the macpass during welcome day. They should have a tent set-up where you can purchase the mac pass. They had one last year so I don't see why they wouldn't this year as well.

Pretty much, there is a finite limit to the amount of MacPasses and swag. Getting it earlier ensures it.

I got a MacPass and didn't even wind up with a shirt back in the day. :0
But I got to see K-Os live...so it's all good.

Oh no, Hiba! I'm definitely sure that no one meant to be disrespectful in any way! To be honest, the people I've met from Mac, especially on this site, are the nicest, most helpful people ever! Compared to other university events I've been to at least! The best thing is, they're really approachable. I've had a number of people actually message me about my questions and such!
