I've heard they've increased the admission average for Commerce over the years. Not sure where it stands now but I recall getting in with a low-mid 80 in 2007.

There's also the possibility that you will get an offer late in the summer. Or at least I think school's do that... to fill up room they might have left.

Yeah, I got into engineering with 74 average. Trust me your not the only one who got surprised by this. I had like 50-60 in gr.12 bio, chem, physics and english but had 100s in calc and computer science course.

I was being doubtful myself as to receiving an [conditional] offer of admission from McMaster but then I just looked at the bright side of things. Sort of became more optimistic than before, and when I checked my email one morning, there it was.

Nobody knows admission averages for the current year.. you shouldn't be relying on one school, if you don't get accepted to McMaster, you should have a backup school. Applicatant numbers fluxuate year to year, but anything >80% gives you a fair chance (except health sci, and commerce). Engineering (a large part of the school is focused on this faculty) and sciences will have lower admission cutoffs, along with arts/humanties because of the wide array of courses students are able to take (thus a potentially large number of seats available).
From my own experience, anedotal evidence, and logic: you have a decent chance at commerce, and and about the same for comp sci. What was the third thing you applied for? (assuming you used OUAC or some eqivalent?)
I'd make sure the third option is something like Mohawk or another uni's comp sci program (if living in Hamilton is a necessary) or social sciences (to shadow and transfer). If you're moving for school, pick another good comp sci school.

I don't know about Business but last year's cutoff for Computer Science was above 80. 900 apply and only 50 get in so you may want to start thinking of alternatives. :(
