Yep, it's in the basement. You just have to be courteous when you play it because the sound resonates to the room above.

Does anyone have pictures of McKay other than what is on the McMaster website. I didn't see the res when i visited mac and I'd like to see some other pics if anyone has some.

This is kind of a random question but are the 500 rooms on the top floor? There's 6 floors according to the website, but some of the res's list the basement as B100 or something like that, so i was wondering if it was the same with McKay.

Try going to Facebook groups. (McKay 2007-2008) There's lots of different groups but i found the 2007-2008 group had the best pictures of the inside of the residence.

McKay has 5 residential floors plus a basement (with a library, games room, study rooms etc but no bedrooms). The fifth floor is actually only half the size of the other floors, since it only occupies one wing. Lastly, there are roughly 260 residents in this building, so there's something like 130-140 rooms in total.

Unofficially, there are 2 bathrooms for 4 rooms (with 2 people per room, so 2 bathrooms for 8 residents). I say "unofficially" because you don't necessarily have to use the bathroom closest to your room. The two girls across the hall when I lived in McKay tried to usurp a single bathroom for themselves, but thoroughly failed

Look at this image of the third floor layout for instance. The 4 rooms in the red box (306, 307, 322, 323) share two bathrooms amongst them (321, 324). And no, you do not have to clean them. You should try to keep in clean, but the cleaning staff do the actual cleaning.

To be honest, you and your roommate can agree who gets which bed (or even move the beds around if you'd like). The letter really just refers to which phone jack you're assigned to since you both have unique telephone extensions.
