McMaster gmail login is a little messed
I don't know about all you guys out here, but I have confirmed this problem with some of my friends.

The problem; although a small one, is very annoying. Every time I go to the McMaster Gmail login page and click the "I Agree" and login, it almost NEVER logs me in the first time around. It always says login failure to do to wrong macID or password but I clearly typed in the correct login information.

On the same page, it'll have a link saying "Login" again and once I click that, then it logs me in fine. Some of my friends say it only happens to them SOMETIMES but I honestly know that it happens to me ALL the time.

It's just really annoying. There must be some way to solve this issue?

Anyone else with the same issue or know how to solve it? I'm logging in using a computer btw. And it's not a browser issue either, I've tried Safari, Firefox and Chrome, all with the same annoying issue.

I use Thunderbird and it connects fine everytime. When I do use the web login however I haven't had any problem using Firefox.

i had this problem using chrome, the way i get around it is that i signed in, then when i logged out i bookmarked the log out page. so every time i click my bookmark it goes to the "you have successfully logged out, login again" page, then when i click log in again it always works the first time i enter my info. kind of annoying but its the only way ive found to get around it!

It's just another awesome feature that stems from all that time and money McMaster invested in their tech!

...sigh.

I have been sending/receiving my mcmaster emails through my other gmail account for ages so try considering that. Under my regular gmail, I can send it as my @mcmaster.ca address and that way it all comes in one place

This always happens to me! I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I've asked friends to login to my Mac email before if my internet is down, and everytime they do they ask me why it failed the first time. I thought I was the only one.

I'm not alone!

I've never had a problem with this in previous years. Now it takes me about 30 seconds just so sign in. Tried bookmarking the McMaster login page for Gmail, but it also gives me an error when I sign in, and I have to enter my info a second time on another page.

The most productive solution to this would be for every single person on this thread to email [email protected] who run the McAuth system that allows users to login to Gmail with their MacID. McAuth is also used for other places like Oscarplus, MSU website, MUGSI etc where I've heard similar stuff. If they one day get 10 emails in a row with the exact same issue, they might pay notice!

Happens to me occasionally using either Rockmelt or Chrome. I have it as an added account though so I can just switch back and forth between my normal Gmail and Mac Gmail without a problem.
