My boyfriend used to be a provincial-level kayaker and talked to me about his race, and how it went and whatnot (because it was on at 1:30 his time and 3:30 our time...so he watched it)
He said he just seemed off and didn't have a good race. There was some kayak-y terms in there, but damned if I can remember them right now.
Nevertheless, 8th in the WORLD is still good!
