				Missed my exam...

		Hey,

I just missed an exam, due to reading the time wrong (I thought exams happened at 9, 12:30, 4 and 7, so I read 14:00 as 4:00). Anyone know who I should contact about this?

I'm not to worried, as I pass the course regardless, but losing 30% sucks.

Thanks.

Actually, i think its Mcmaster policy that the final exam must be written to pass the course (regardless whether you get 1% or 100%).

I would contact your faculty advisor as soon as possible and see if theres anything you can do.

I think the professor is the only one who can help you at this point. If you are in first year, they might go easy on you and let you make it up somehow (I had a friend in first year do this after he slept through his alarm). I think the chances are slim though :/

		 haha, oh man that sucks.
maybe reading a 24 hour clock should be part of the admissions process.

i'm sure of you talk to the prof ASAP you may get to defer it, unless the prof is a dick

Another quick question, to help me with the paranoia I'm going through.

If I do fail the course, will it still be possible to get on the dean's honour list if I have completed 30 units with above 9.5 average since last spring?

9.5 average doesn't include summer courses afaik, just saying.

yeah, I don't know who to contact about this. tbh I'm afraid of doing the same thing. it's the reason why I check the exam times and date multiple times up to the exam

I think the deal is you have to have not failed a single class to stay on the honours list. This is a special circumstance though, so I dunno.

I know missing an exam totally sucks, and you're probably pretty pissed right now... but when you post something like that on a public forum, you have to expect to be ripped on somewhat. Not that it helps, but so far you've gotten off pretty easy IMO.

Just think of it this way; how much worse would it have been if you had missed 2C03 instead? :p
