You're right, but...
http://dictionary.reference. com/browse/irregardless
...it's not supposed to be used. It's much like a slang term, so don't use it on essays and formal writing.

The thread title reminded me of the time in first year where these mormons tried to convert us.
It was one of my first time venturing off-campus, I had gone to East Gate with a friend and when we got on the bus to go back to school we realized it was not the right bus and we were going in the opposite direction. So my friend was like let's get off hear and wait for the right bus. So while we're waiting these two women come us to us, and start talking to us about Mormonism. They were all so can we schedule an appointment to meet with you and give you a free book of Mormon. After we declined they kept insisting, until my friend was like "no, I'm good with my Catholicism for now." It was weird, and amusing.
They weren't on campus though. I would have been more annoyed if it was on campus. There's enough unwanted solicitation in the student centre, we don't need outside groups getting in on it too.

And therefore the only time you should use irregardless if you're saying "In regards to" - but "In irregardless to" sounds completely wrong, so I'd say never to use it.

Completely agree.
And I'm pretty sure "Elder" Zhang (and yes, the asian guy does have a name) will never want to approach me again after a lengthy debate with him counteracting all his arguments. If you read up on Mormonism, you'll be able to understand AND argue with anyone who tries to talk to you, rather than just thinking of them as "those mormons who won't leave us alone".
Religion isn't a threat. It's just something a lot of people don't understand and that's what religious studies is for, to help us see from other people's viewpoints.

Religion isn't a threat, except when it threatens peoples rights and freedoms, which it does.
Religion inherently isn't threatening buts its the unfortunate ways that people have chosen to abuse religion that make it a threat.

I think that really depends on the degree to which one accepts science and the scientific method. What I mean by that is if one sets the scientific method as the means of proof, then religious questions are nonsensical (to distinguish - I don't mean 'nonsense' in a demeaning way). If one merely accepts science as a subset of the means of proof, then yes, they bypass the problem.
Of course, with that being said, they then have to deal with two somewhat contradictory proof-schemata. Most people get around this by not really thinking about the logical framework behind their beliefs, haha
