Haha, that's a new one, Katie.....yes, people start living there right after they move in. In fact, Welcome Week events start that first day, and there are important things you wouldn't want to miss that very night (such as your first floor meeting where you get to know the people you'll be living with for the year and the most important rules and guidelines).

So yes, tell her that you'll be sleeping there that night, and that everyone else will be too!

Oh, for the person who asked yesterday about early move-in, the info you wanted is up on the website here: http://housing.mcmaster.ca/Residence...ovein2008.html
I forgot to mention the other "good reason" to move in early is flight arrangements.

WHAT IF I CAN'T MOVE-IN ON MY POSTED DATE?
Early move-in...
  • ONLY students with international or out-of-province flight arrangements may request an early move-in date.
  • Students MUST contact residence admissions ([email protected]) and request permission to move-in early. ONLY those students who are approved in advance will be allowed to move-in early.
  • Students are responsible for all additional fees associated with their early arrival. Charges will be made to their student account for each additional day.

in the area, no. you can go downtown and there is a good place, or so i've heard.

you will be directed to where you pick them up. it's usually at your respective service desk, north quad (whidden, woodstock, brandon, les prince, edwards, mckay, hedden), or west quad (matthews, wallingford, moulton, bates, keyes).

Don't worry, you'll be directed where to go to get your keys by the reps who are unloading your car, and there will be signs everywhere. If you're in North Quad, it'll likely be at the Commons Building. If you're in West Quad, it'll likely be inside Mary Keyes.
