So I'm a first year student in Social Sciences and I really want to know what exactly happens on move in day? Any special innitiations I should be aware of ?

Ps: I'm going to be staying in Brandon Hall, anything fun I should know about?

Well, you'll get there and you'll probably be stuck in your car for a long time. You need to wait for all the cars to be unloaded.
When you park your car you unload all of your luggage, and the C.A's, Maroons and other people move your stuff in for you, and they'll drop it off for you to the front of your door.
Some items you'll have to bring in yourself (like t.v.'s) and depending on how far up you live in Brandon, it may be a ***** to do so.
Your parents will leave you shortly and depending on your emotional level, you may or may not cry.
Shortly after moving in there is the Mac-Connector. Essentially a huge opportunity to meet people. Its kinda crazy at times. Very loud. You get very close with a lot of people. Of course it is optional so you don't have to go, but it is worth it because you'll definitely meet a lot of people.
There will be a ton of events occuring around the campus, and you'll see a lot of people walking around. Don't walk in anybodies way, or stand in the middle of the road. You'll piss a lot of people off - something you don't want to do on your first day.
After the Move in day, more Welcome Week Shenanigans occur, you'll meet more people. You'll probably get a shirt later on that says your a soc sci kid, and people may take offence to this.
You'll also learn some cheers. You'll be forced to dance as well. You'll look like a complete idiot but it is okay because everyone else looks the same.

Hehe sounds fun. I don't know if this is true but I've been told we get paint thrown at us after move in just for fun... true?

Thanks for the info!

It didn't happen to me, but I'm sure it happened to some people - if you're worried don't wear any clothes you like that day!
To be honest a lot could happen on that day. I was never initiated in some way shape or form, but it happened to others.
Don`t worry about being initiated, you`re there to have fun and learn and if it does happen to you don`t take it personally. Just have fun, meet some great people and enjoy welcome week, classes will be starting shortly after.
