Need New Laptop any suggestions?

I need a new laptop for the coming school year and I'd like some input on the different brands. Like who do you believe has the best reputation for customer service, for best innovation, for best product. In a laptop I need one that has standard programs such as adobe, microsoft but has the capacity to run Nuance- Dragon Home Ed. (http://www.nuance.com/for-individual...sion/index.htm for comp specs). I don't play games just a lot of surfing and video watching, it also needs to have cd/dvd available.

I'm most interested in your opinion of what brands are the best and why you believe they are and what flaws you believe other brands have.

Thanks for any input!

There are tons of threads about this topic.. the fact that you made a new thread instead of posting in one of those shows extreme laziness.

Anyways...:
Asus/lenovo.

Acer/sony/dell are hit or miss.. some are fantastic, others are horrifying. HP/toshiba, are moreso.

Any laptop priced at 400$+ will fit the specifications of that program, as it isn't at all intensive on any tech spec. Aim towards buying something listed as 'business class' or the like... stay away from netbooks and probably macs, because that program might not be supported.

Just putting it out there, Mac OSX can also run Nuance Dragon Dictation. Since your looking for casual use it won't be too expensive if its a PC. If you have extra cash then maybe consider a Macbook.

I hate the keyboard on the 15z with a passion. It's disgustingly ugly imo, and the speakers aren't the most attractive either. Other than that, it's a pretty nice, aesthetically pleasing laptop.

Do you have one or you're just saying that from the images of the laptop?
