You're missing a few really good ones. Mainly Community and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia for comedies and Parenthood, Men of a Certain Age, and The Good Wife for dramas.

Community I've heard of and have been meaning to check out. The rest I've never heard of.

Castle and The Mentalist are solid, albeit somewhat cliched crime dramas starring a male assistant/advisor to a female lead detective and a duo of lesser, albeit still-competent male detectives occasionally used for comic relief. Plus, Castle has Nathan Fillion and therefore, delicious Firefly references.
No Ordinary Family is my Heroes replacement, but I hear it might not last much longer. =\
I was trying to stick to fairly recent shows, or this would have been in my list of completed. Also on that list would be the original Transformers, He-Man and GI Joe cartoons.

In that case, watch Fringe. It's similar in structure to the X-Files with the monster of the week episodes and the on-going story.
The show premise is that a normal cop and his daughter accidentally discovered the town of Eureka. Eureka is the home for the brightest of the bright and heavy research grants are given with almost no restriction on the type of research allows.
The opening theme should already strike your interest due to its soft melody. If not, the TV spot after that can explain it a bit better.
What happen to our society when the leadership and survival structures are taken away from us over night? That is the main interest behind Jericho.
Multiple nukes exploded all over the US. The show follow the adventure of the small town name Jericho as the citizens attempt to survive over the disaster.
Its really interesting to see how people transition slowly to chaos. Slowly, salt become the new currency. What's the point of having money when the government that back it up is dead?
Community and Outsourced are both pretty good comedies. If you haven't already, you need to watch the Luther mini-series. It's only 6 episodes, but I thoroughly enjoyed each.
And with an opening like this you know it's going to be good:
Update:
Fringe
Supernatural
Eureka
QI
Ricky Gervais Show
Doctor Who
Primeval Rescue Me
How I Met Your Mother Human Target
Bones
V
Parenthood
No Ordinary Family
Criminal Minds (not that new spin-off bullshit) The Defenders
True Blood Stargate: Universe
The Good Guys
BOLD IS GOOD

Why didn't you include SG:SG-1 and SG: Atlantis too? Those two focus more on exploration and adventure instead of the melodrama SG: Universe has.
