New Mac Residence being built?
Quote:
McMaster Graduate Residence
Hamilton, Ontario
Currently an active proposal, this residence is located on Main & Hughson streets in downtown Hamilton. Adjacent to the new courthouse and McMaster's new off-campus facility, the building is intended to accommodate graduate students, commercial uses and parking in a building, which forms a strong edge for an urban park.

I wish they had something like it when I was a grad student here! Much better than hunting for apartments, avoiding the scarry basement ones!

They can't build that thing downtown, it's going to cost a LOT!
Although it does look pretty nice, the land down there has quite a price tag on it. Either mcmaster is going to pay or they will kill grad students with rent.

realestate in downtown hamilton isn't as expensive as you think,
besides, MAC probably made a deal with the city to get a discount.
probably went something like
MAC: "hey give us the building... future doctors, philosphers,a rtists, and business leaders are moving in"
Hamilton: "uhh , here you go"
