anyway, something serious -- racetams are a good bet. They are fairly obscure, but testing on piracetam has shown it to be more or less harmless (especially when compared to over the counter drugs, let alone amphetamine prescriptions)
I don't use them to study, but I've read good things about aniracetam in particular.
