Hookay.

I'm pretty much a techy failure, so any help (and in simplified language) is greatly appreciated.

In order to set up my wireless internet, I need to install the CD from the router. Except apparently my CD/DVD drive isn't working...and I don't know what to do to fix it. I know I can download driver software, but I'm not sure what to download.

It's a TSST Corp CD/DVDW TS-L632D ATA device.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If its a driver issue you should be able to go to the website of your computer's manufacturer, look up the model and find the drivers for things that came standard with your computer there.

That's how I found a driver I needed for something on my Toshiba laptop a while back.

I've never checked out other sites but I would imagine other computer manufacturers do this too.

Hope that helps.

Good question.

They might be able to download and install what they need from the internet instead of using the CD.

But the router itself, you might be able to download the router's drivers, install it and get connected.
Maybe the CD drive has a hardware problem?

You shouldnt need any cd to connect to your router. As for the dvd drive if finding the drivers dont work then your drive may have may have failed.

http://www.linksysbycisco.co m/US/e...T54G2/download

Here are the drivers you need. No need for CD.
Check which version you have ex 1.0, 1.5, it tells you under "Where's my model number"

Then download the Setup Wizard from the bottom left corner of the screen.
Happy surfing.
