I'm watching the highlights for it. Did Berbatov dove for the penalty? It seemed so.

the rumour mills are churning out this stuff at lightning speed..
"Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola has set his sights on capturing Manchester United right-back Rafael. "
"United, meanwhile, are pushing ahead with attempts to sign Barcelona's Spanish international midfielder Sergio Busquets"
I thought SAF explicitly said he didn't want to buy anyone in this transfer window x\

get your dirty hands off Rafael, Barca
lol don't ever believe SAF, 90% of what he says is full of shit to put off lesser men (i.e. every other manager in the world)
edit: with that said, i doubt he'll buy Busquets, if anyone from Barca, it should be Alcantara, out of contract at the end of the year, younger, more talented, and more attacking

If Torres is to leave, I'm pretty sure it's going to be in the summer. But Liverpool's trying to keep him by geting Luis Suarez, which would be a great signing.
Crazy how he's being valued around 18-25 mil. If Darren Bent was signed for 18 mil (up to 24 pending performances) from Aston Villa, Suarez should be way more than that.
And they should think about revamping that back-four of theirs. And sell that goddamn Lucas Leiva.

24 mn is wayyyyy too high for bent, he should be worth around a couple pennies, seeing as Ruud was sold for 10 mn
but to be honest, 18-25 mn seems about right for Suarez, Bent was overvalued, his real value shouldn't be anything more than 15 mn

Sunderland getting at least 18 mil from Bent is great. Hopefully they'll use it smartly and hold their place in the table. It's surprising that they're not far from a Champions League spot if Chelsea keeps ****ing up and if Spurs can't string a few wins in a row.
That Bent deal was actually win-win, with Sunderland getting some money and Villa getting someone who can (compared to other Villa strikers) score goals, albeit overpriced.
I don't understand how Villa spends money now and not earlier. The owner's cheapness caused Martin O'Neill to leave before the season started.

I kinda feel foor Adidas, they really lost a huge market by losing the French National Team rights. Nike has the upper hand for now. I find the whole Nike vs. Adidas debacle in soccer very interesting from a marketing point of view. I guess it's a shame I'm an engineer?
Anyways back to the real soccer talk... Suarez would be a great deal for Liverpool at that price. I feel like the new ownership is playing a very cautious game right now since they don't know too much about soccer. As for Bent, he was so overpriced and that's a good situation for Sunderland, and although they have been wasteful with their transfers before, it seems as though they've been making some risky but good deals as of the last season or two. Also the fact that they still have Welbeck on loan and he's been great and Campbell might finally step up his game now that Bent is gone. Villa on the other hand, I do not understand. Yes they need someone that can score, but there must be other cheaper options? I'm sure Santa Cruz or even Adebayor would been close to that value.

Yeah, but you have to understand that...
1. Santa Cruz is at Blackburn on loan until the end of the season, and Villa desperately needs some goals now. I'm sure Villa thought about signing him, but his lack of games probably put them off.
2. Adebayor commands a team who will play some Champions League next season, because he's a little b*tch.
