Psych 1X03
I'm told that psych at Mac is done with web modules... So why do I choose a core?

the lectures given by the profs are web modules, but in addition to that there are cores (mini lectures) and tutorials. the core for psych 1X03 is basically a meeting with a T.A and around 20 other students and a review of the weeks web module. there are also optional mini-quizes given in the core sections.

I thought the same thing. But it's more of a tutorial than an actual core class. Where you basically go over the web modules and get ur questions answered and such. They also include the quizzes section for the course, which happen during the tutorials or "core" classes

Okay, that's what a friend of mine was saying too, just wanted to make sure. So they're a little more laid back?

ya...thats kinda what I meant, thanks for explaining it a bit better. last year for psych 1X03 i had both a core and a tutorial. maybe it was just my T.A but she gave us the optional weekly quiz after the review of the web lecture in the core each week, and then later in the week when we met for the tutorial section we were given back the quizes and went over the answers and discussed the lecture material more indepth in a smaller group setting.

Thanks for your in-depth explanation as well! Thank God there's only "core" now

Thanks for the replies! I've been sitting around after selecting my courses and wondering how it's gonna work out. Glad to hear that psych is basically a review each week, get to do the web modules on my own when I have time, scheduling it ridiculous for engineering.

I know! 37 units is just way too much :(. But I guess after first year, taking summer school might be helpful or something. And Psych will definitely be a change from all the engineering courses

Yeah, that's my thinking with Psych, give me a break from the math/physics/chemistry. I'm doing the co-op program though, so summer school is out, I'll be off working.

Definitely! And it's always that one course that stands out and most likely you'll like . Ooh co-op sounds awesome !
PS- I hope I'm not missing anything with the "See I told you" comment

Ah, that's my best friend/roommate, I asked him basically the same question and got the same answer, but didn't neccesarily think he knew what he was talking about.
And yeah, co-op should be awesome, finally get a decent job instead of lame retail/fast food
