RANT: Why do people litter...
like seriously.. is it that hard to throw out your trash in a garbage bin?
.. does a junior chicken wrapper really bug you that much that you feel the need to throw it out the window as while driving as soon as you're finished the burger?
i really don't understand how people can just throw things away into the environment without feeling bad or ashamed of their actions
there was even this once when the car in front of me stopped, opened the window, neatly placed a juicebox in the middle of two lanes and then drove off..

Because it all ends up in the same place.
(I don't condone littering at all, btw).
To answer question #2: people don't give a **** about the environment. Why would they feel guilty over something they don't care about?
To answer question #3: I'm sure that was more for the amusement of said person than a legitimate and serious act of littering. (I'm not saying they had no intention of littering but I'm sure that was a unique occasion where they were extremely bored).

I wish people cared more about the environment... But I'm kind of biased.

One of my pet peeves is when the car in front of you flicks their cigarette butt out their window...
bounce
spark
bounce
*smack* hits my car.

Litter absolutely drives me nuts. People can be so ignorant at times. You should have seen the garbage after the Welcome Week concerts. Disgusting and unbelievable.
I also hate hate hate seeing cigarette butts scattered everywhere. Yuck.

During my shift at one of the communtiy policing centres, we actually got a call for someone littering a dirty diaper down the street from us. She was sitting on a bench with a garbage can RIGHT beside her but instead threw it onto the ground. The police officer did not let her off easy which I'm glad of. It's hard to enjoy a walk in the park when you have to avoid human feces.

Sometimes when I am in the car with my mom and people throw garbage out my window, she gets extra mad and honks her horn a few times. LOL
But people who litter make me so mad, especially when there are plenty of garbage cans in most places... and if not, I can't understand why it is so hard to just hang on to it for a short amount of time before you find one.
I also don't understand why people care so little about the environment when you live on Earth? It's your home, can't go anywhere else when global warming ruins everything =P
Oh hey, lets just jump on our spaceship and move to earth 2.0, umm, not so much

Serious question?
Because whatever consequences one person's actions will have, they won't be affected by it.

That is true, but what about the future human race? People's family and such? As well as the general aesthetics of streets and such?
Think about the children! lol
alas, there really isn't much you can do, as you said, people don't generally care about things that aren't affecting the here and now of their lives
