I know Mac has a fencing team, but is this a varsity team or is it a recreational thing? How experienced is the team?

I've fenced for about 2 months (took a beginner's course), so I know the basics of the game, but I'm definitely not good enough for a competititve team. I just want to fence for fun.

There is no intermural fencing team.

As for the team itself, I'm not really sure. But if you go to their website, you can contact the head coach and ask! He could tell you more about what's available at McMaster in the coming year.

There is a beginners class at the begining of every year. Its done for this year, but if you have the basics you might be able to practice with the team. Message me and Ill put you in contact. Also, we have practice on mon, tues and thurs from 8-10 in the Smith Gym and thurs 900-1030 in the Burridge

There is also a summer course starting april 28 if anyone is interested
