Residence
Okay so I don't want to deal with renting out a place for next year and living off campus. Instead I want to be in residence for next year. What're my chances for getting a room?

20% of residence is reserved for upper years I've heard, beyond that I'm not sure. You might have better luck if you go for an apartment style, I hear there are more upper years in those.

yeah I know about the 20% thing, what I want to know is how many upper years apply for residence and how many of those people actually get it.

If you apply before the deadline, and have an average over the residence cutoff- chances are you'll get a spot. I've lived in residence all years and have always managed to get a spot (even though I applied late twice)....though if you apply late, there is no guarantee that you will get the kind of room you asked for.

From their website
- Students must maintain a 5.0 sessional average to remain on the guaranteed list.
- Students achieving Dean's Honours (9.5 or higher GPA) will be offered a residence space provided they have met all application and deposit deadlines.
