Hey Patrick,

I looked at all your possibilites to solve your conflict. One involves switch courses between terms. Another involves switching your entire term two around. However, the chance you will be able to do this now is slim since most of these are probably full. Your best bet, which I think is actually the best option here, is to switch your ECON 1BB3 course to 1E, the evening course. It's 3 hours Wednesday night only once a week. It's better than having your courses all over the place trying to fit the day class in. If it's full, just call the economics undergrad office and let them know you need to get it to solve your conflict.

First Term:
Switch Physics 1D03 to C01. If that's full, you can try switching it to C02, but for that, you'll have to move engineer 1P03 somewhere else.

You can switch Math 1Z04 to C02 if you move the physics lab and engineer 1D03 tutorial.

For the last step, switch the chem lab and physics lab to Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday afternoons at 14:30.

Switch the engineer 1D03 tutorial to Monday.

If you make those changes, all your courses will be earlier, with a nice break before your two labs in the afternoon. Plus you'd get off much earlier on Fridays.

Thanks for your help Mitch however most of the changes you suggested wouldn't work because of full courses and labs. However I did manage to change my schedule. Now I'm stuck with a 4 hour break in between a class. Oh well I'll live. And does it matter if my Econ 1BB3 is in 1st or 2nd semester in the evening? Also I will change my 2nd semester later on in the first as some of those courses are full to and may open up later.

Hey Patrick,

Glad you were able to work things out even though you didn't get everything you wanted. I don't know your exact program requirements, but I don't think it matters if you take ECON 1BB3 in first term. You would just have 6 courses in first term and 4 in second term. Your first term would be difficult. You would probably have 6 exams then, most likely more than 1 per day. Do what suits you best.

Cheers

Hey aetang,

Your first term looks fine. I would only suggest one thing. Move your bio lab and tutorial to L/T 25, 26, 27 or 28. Then move your chem lab to L 65,66,75,76,85 or 86. Only make these switches if you can do both of them. What this does, is it moes your chem lab to Wendesday afternoon and your bio lab to Tuesday afternoon. After a chem lab, you will probably be exhausted and dirty. You wouldn't want to go to another class right after. There are a bunch of other times you could move your bio lab to if those ones are full, like Tuesday morning.

Your second term looks great. I have no suggestions for it. Say hi to Anish for me

Hey Meg142,

I would move the Physics 1B03 lab to Monday and Thursday at 12:30. I would then move either the chem lab or bio lab (whichever is on the day you chose to move the physics lab to) to Wednesday at 14:30.

If some are these are full right now, don't worry about it. Keep checking throughout first term to see if they become available. They don't kick your courses off if they're conflicted or anything. By late in first term, you should know your way around this stuff, so you could ask the department at that point to open you a spot.

MacEng,

I really like some of the changes! I like how you focused on your labs so that you won't be rushed to complete them, especially the chem ones. That's a major factor. Darn those late courses though! Anyway, nothing much you can do about them. Even though you finish late, I think the stress and craziness will be lessened with your new schedules.

Hey I was wondering what a "full course load" would be at McMaster?

I believe that would be 30 credits in the year. So the equivalent of 10 single term courses (3 credits each). I may stand corrected though.

Hey AnguishedEnd,

Your timetable doesn't look as bad as other engineering student ones. The only thing I would suggest, is to move that late friday chem lab to the same time on Tuesday. And then move the engineering 1C03 lab to the same time on Monday in order to relieve crampiness from Tuesday.

Cheers
